Club Cubase Toronto will have its first meeting of 2011 at Long & McQuade on Bloor Street.  The meeting will take place at 7pm on Thursday, January 27th, in the presentation room above the Keyboards department.  This month's meeting will be the Canadian premiere of Cubase 6, just announced at the 2011 Winter NAMM show.

Long & McQuade is located on the south side of Bloor Street, a very short walk west from Ossington station if you are arriving by TTC.  For drivers, parking is available in the store lot, and there is metered street parking and a public pay lot on the east side of Ossington, just north of Bloor.

Club Cubase is a free user group for engineers, producers, songwriters, and anybody interested in making music with their computer.  You do not need to be a registered Cubase user to attend, and users of all experience levels are welcome.

Club Cubase Ottawa typically meets on the first Thursday of every month at St. John's Music, but we're a bit later in the month this time, in case you need more time to play with any studio toys that came your way over the holidays!  Join the community for product demonstrations, guest speakers, and a chance to share tips & techniques with your fellow users.

For the January meeting, Club Cubase Edmonton will take a deeper look at the World Instruments library from Garritan.  Garritan libraries are renowned for their sound quality and expressiveness, and VST Expression maps are in preparation which will bring an entirely new level of control to Cubase users with Garritan libraries.  VST Expression was recently praised in an interview with famed film composer Hans Zimmer, who called the feature "absolutely brilliant".  The full interview is available on the Steinberg.net website.

Club Cubase Edmonton typically meets on the first Wednesday of every month at Grant MacEwan University.  Meetings begin at 7pm in the Music Technology Lab (room 134, lower level, in the centre corridor) at the Centre for the Arts and Communication campus.
