Several months ago, one of our members began an informative series of lectures covering the process of beginning with a MIDI file and building up a new arrangement and orchestration. In the process, we've developed a deeper understanding of the tools and workflow involved in this process, and how they can enrich our music creation in general.
For the September meeting, several members will be working with a common MIDI file to develop their own interpretation. This could range from simply choosing your own instrument sounds and coming up with your own mix, to more advanced changes such as time signature or tempo changes, through to radical re-workings of the piece. It's a great chance to extend your familiarity with Cubase while simultaneously expressing your creativity. For this meeting, all the participants will share their results and discuss their process.
Club Cubase Toronto's September meeting will be generously hosted by our friends at Saved by Technology. Details and directions are available at their website.
